Our Story
Founded in 1975, TravelWorld began with a simple yet powerful vision: to make travel personal, seamless, and unforgettable. That vision came to life thanks to the dedication and leadership of Debra Freas, co-founder and longtime President, who, along with Executive Vice President John Madden, built TravelWorld into one of Northeast Pennsylvania’s most trusted travel agencies. With offices in Kingston and Scranton, TravelWorld became known for its commitment to excellence, personalized service, and deep local roots.
Over the past five decades, the company has helped generations of travelers explore the world — from cruises and custom group tours to heritage travel and destination weddings. TravelWorld has always gone beyond booking services to offer clients peace of mind, insider knowledge, and curated experiences tailored to their needs.
In 2025, as TravelWorld celebrates 50 years of service, it also turns the page to a new chapter. New owners Matt Kizis and Alan Kline, both lifelong NEPA residents, are proud to continue the company’s legacy. With the ongoing support and involvement of John Madden, the TravelWorld team remains as passionate and experienced as ever, combining trusted traditions with a fresh, forward-looking approach to travel planning.
